Francis Reginald Scott, also known as F. R. Scott, was an important figure in 20th-century Canada. He was both a modern poet and a public thinker. In the 1920s, he co-founded the Montreal Group of poets. This group helped transform Canadian poetry by moving away from Victorian-style nature poems toward modern themes and sharper ideas. By co-founding literary magazines such as Preview and editing significant poetry collections, Scott played a major role in shaping Canadian literature.
