Radio is a powerful mass communication medium that connects people and reaches even those in remote areas. It provides information through local and international news, education through lectures and language lessons, and entertainment through music, drama, comedy, and talk shows. It plays an important public service role by broadcasting disaster warnings and health information. Community radio promotes local issues and rural development while giving people a chance to express their opinions. Radio also supports advertising and social awareness programmes. It helps preserve local languages and cultural traditions. Special programmes support youth education, while student radio stations teach broadcasting skills. With the growth of digital and internet radio, people can now listen to programmes from around the world. Thus, radio remains an important medium for education and entertainment because it is affordable and reaches a wide audience.
